Alan McElroy is a professional stand-up comedian, MC, actor and writer from Dublin, Ireland. He has a degree in Media Production and Management and worked in live television. He emigrated to Auckland in 2010 and not long after that became very busy on the pro circuit around NZ. His debut solo show, ' Giddy' at the NZ International Comedy Festival 2012 sold out 6 nights and an extra show was added due to demand. He brought that show to the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Since 2012 Alan has been the 'warm up' comedian for several television shows, including 'Would I Lie To You', '7 Days', 'Best Bits' and the live TV recording on Red Nose Day. In 2013 and 2014 he featured on the live TV show ' Crack Up'. As an actor, he has featured in a number of commercials since arriving in NZ, Including Tui, XBox, Placemakers, AMI Insurance and KFC and also played Tim O Connor on Shortland Street.
